The Fund announces its name change from the Southeastern Thrift and Bank Fund to the John Hancock Financial Trends Fund, Inc. and adopts a new, broader investment policy. The fund will continue to invest in Southeastern banks and thrifts, but will also invest in U.S. and foreign companies across the financial services industry, including finance companies, brokerage and advisory firms, real estate firms and insurance companies. The Fund receives NASDAQ quotron symbol JHFT.

5/24/00
The Fund receives NASDAQ quotron symbol STB.

11/1/95
The share price is adjusted to reflect 2-for-1 stock split.

8/31/95
The shareholders vote to extend the fund perpetually as a closed-end fund.

The Fund was incepted. IPO Price: $6.00
