Administrative Assistant
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Function as receptionist for office visitors and answer the main phone line during business hours.
- Support all staff members in completing a wide variety of administrative tasks.
- Fulfill duties associated with general office management to facilitate overall organizational and operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Perform various recurring administrative duties.
- Provide limited client service and compliance support.
- Perform some accounting department support tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL SET
- Five or more years experience in an administrative support capacity, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Experience in a client service capacity preferred.
- Pleasant attitude and demeanor.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Attention to detail and willingness to ask questions.
- Strong communication skills and a team player.
- Demonstrating a serious commitment to accuracy, timeliness and quality of assigned tasks.

Trade Desk Associate
POSITION SUMMARY
- Set up equity trades using various platforms.
- Monitor equity portfolios.
- Act as liaison between trading desk, operations, broker-dealers and custodian banks in all aspects of trading operations.
- Supports the trading team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Subject to change)
- Support Trading Team in all operational areas
- Assist Traders and Portfolio Managers in trade creation, reporting and settlements.
- Develop understanding of firm trading and operational systems and technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all trade settlement issues.
- Create and Report Equity Trades
- Create equity trades using various platforms.
- Report end of day trades to prime brokers and other interested parties.
- Execute and Monitor Wrap Platform Trades
- Create and execute equity trades on wrap trading platforms under supervision of other Traders on the team.
- Develop market and trading knowledge base.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL SET
- One to two years experience in an operational role supporting trading or investment management.

Investment Operations Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
- The Investment Operations Specialist plays an important role in the management of client accounts. The specialist provides support and information to the investment team and client portfolio management team. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial in this role.
- Each specialist will be assigned a book of business comprised of multiple custodians. The specialist will be responsible for servicing all client accounts within their book.
TEAM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initialize and Maintain Client Accounts
- Process & reconcile transactions and cash flows in a timely manner.
- Produce client account reports, statements, and invoices.
- Maintain Portfolio Management System
- Develop an extremely high level of knowledge of the portfolio accounting system, ensuring the firm is fully utilizing the portfolio accounting system's functionality.
- Review and verify data in the portfolio accounting system.
- Assist Investment and Client Portfolio Management Teams in Account Management
- Maintain up to date account balances and communicate account activity to client portfolio managers and investment team.
- Provide accurate daily account positions and cash values to the trading desk.
INDIVIDUAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Each member of the team is assigned individual responsibilities which may include;
- Post corporate actions into the portfolio accounting system.
- Calculate composite performance and maintain compliance with GIPS standards.
- Maintain accounts within the Proxy system.
- Review and process class action filings.
- Maintain the firm's disaster recovery program.

Regional Sales (East Coast region)
POSITION SUMMARY
- Proactive business development focused on developing and maintaining relationships, as well as identifying and acquiring new business within their territory to meet sales goals.
- Responsible for raising and retaining assets within a geographic territory by making proactive phone calls, setting up office meetings and making presentations to financial advisers to share sales ideas, provide product information, gather marketing data and offer sales support.
- Maintain prospect/client data and provide follow up service and support.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Subject to change)
- Business Development
- Manage the full sales cycle encompassing identification, face-to-face presentations to key decision-makers, responses to requests for proposals, contract negotiations, successful close of new business and client support.
- Proactively pursue sales leads and identify or pursue new client relationships; prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to prospective customers.
- Systematically call on securities firms and money managers within assigned territory.
- Conduct presentations, participate in industry panels and provide marketing support during industry conferences.
- Client Maintenance, Service and Support
- Act as relationship manager to new and existing customers to ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded, and provide on-going support to ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and maintain a current list of clients and prospects using in-house CRM including detailed meeting notes.
- Proactively work with Internal Support to enhance scheduling, client service and expand relationships. Assist in developing skills and experience of Internal Support individuals.

Client Portfolio Manager
Position Summary:
Primary responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for institutional clients and their consultants; effectively communicating portfolio results and positioning to clients; and fully understanding Diamond Hill's investment process, strategies and holdings as well as the U.S. investment markets. The Client Portfolio Manager works closely with the portfolio managers and the investment team by facilitating on-site client meetings, attending off-site client meetings as a representative for the investment team, providing market and account specific commentary and monitoring client accounts. This position is a multi-functional role given its interaction with the investment team, trading, operations and client relations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Subject to change)
Client Portfolio Management
- Attend investment related meetings.
- Interact/communicate with investment and non-investment teams regarding various investment policies, procedures and issues.
- Maintain and enhance investment knowledge through continuing education and daily interaction with the investment team.
- Understand and be able to communicate the current positioning of all firm strategies, recent changes in key holdings or sectors, and investment results relative to benchmarks.
- Conduct and facilitate client meetings or client update calls, attend off-site client meetings and participate in prospective client meetings as requested.
- Represent the investment team with clients and/or consultants.
- Manage Advisory client portfolios according to client objectives & direction.
Client Service
- Serve as primary day to day point of contact for our institutional clients and their consultants.
- Coordinate account set-up with the client, consultant and the various departments within Diamond Hill including operations, compliance and trading.
- Understand and meet clients' servicing expectations and reporting requirements.
- Resolve client issues, address questions, coordinate inflow/outflow requests and account terminations.
- Build and maintain relationships with our clients and their consultant contacts.
- Prepare client, consultant and mutual fund commentary and questionnaires.
Portfolio Analytics & Review
- Run and review attribution and contribution reports along with portfolio accounting system reports to evaluate client account performance.
- Monitor accounts for any investment guidelines violations, updates and changes.
- Monitor weekly model reviews to understand portfolio variances, trade activity and compliance with security restrictions.
- Review the monthly composite & fund performance and provide rationale for the dispersion.
- Review composite membership.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL SET
- 8 or more years experience in the investment industry, preferably as an investment analyst and/or client portfolio manager.
- Extensive knowledge of investment management, preferably with the intrinsic value (Graham-Buffett) approach, with experience in both equity and fixed income securities.
- Documented success in working with institutional and high-net-worth clients.
- PC proficient in Windows environment (MS-Office suite), with experience using portfolio management/accounting software preferred.
- Self-motivated with an initiative and desire to succeed, along with a strong focus on client service.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive client information and non-public company data/information.
- Helpful to have a working knowledge of the Investment Company/Advisors Acts of 1940 and the various related issues of industry compliance.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor of Science degree in investments, finance, economics or related business discipline required.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required. MBA degree a plus.
